My Leadership and Organizing Course Experience

just for you

There’s no denying that 2020 was one of the toughest years for most of us. But for me, joining a 10-day Leadership and Organizing course was the perfect way to end it—and coincidentally, the class began on my birthday. The knowledge I gained and the amazing people I connected with might just be the best birthday gift I’ve ever received.

As a student of business and management, the terms “leader” and “leadership” were not new to me. I had studied them in college and used to believe that being a manager automatically made someone a leader. However, this course completely transformed my understanding of leadership. I learned about the real essence of coaching, storytelling, team building, and relationship management.

Special thanks to our wonderful mentors, Prakriti and Sachin Dai, for teaching in such a friendly and relatable way. And heartfelt gratitude to the entire LAO team for making online learning so engaging, fun, and memorable.

The course was well-organized, insightful, and inspiring—but what I gained the most wasn’t just knowledge; it was the friendships and the sense of shared purpose. I met incredible individuals who genuinely care about creating a positive impact in society. These are people who don’t just complain about what should change—they act to make change happen. Each of us came with different dreams, but we all shared one vision: to create a better world than the one we live in now.

Being surrounded by such like-minded, passionate people filled me with motivation to finally speak out about my Dream Project—something I’ve held close to my heart for a long time. I walked into the course with curiosity, but what I walked out with is truly priceless.

They say, “You need to be in the right environment and among the right people.” I believe I just found mine—and at the perfect time.

My biggest takeaway from this course is

“Nobody will hand you responsibility—you have to take it yourself. Hold yourself accountable for your actions and take ownership of your work.”

I would highly recommend this course to everyone. The people you’ll meet, the stories you’ll hear, and the experiences you’ll have will genuinely change you. The course was almost picture-perfect—the only thing I wished for was a longer duration and the chance to meet everyone in person.

Thank you, Leadership and Organizing Team, for everything!
